How to Find Seed Keywords and Pick Best Niche for CPA PPD Affiliate Earning.

If you are a new CPA(Cost/Click Per Action) and PPD(Pay Per Download) site builder, you probably have the same problem everyone else does.

You do not know what niche to choose ( What to write about). Exploring several different sources for good long tail seed keywords for CPA and PPD is a great first step to finding excellent, profitable niche.

The first and most important step to solving that problem are to find some high seed keywords.

So, first, what is a Seed Keyword?

  • A starting idea
  • A sample, broad keyword you can plug into tools
  • Used to find competition, niche sites, and blogs in the market
  • Also used to find good secondary keywords

Here's an example: one seed keyword might be "CPA hunting" and you could modify that with the word "top" fundamentally review" or "best" to find right product-based keywords in the CPA hunting niche. IF this sounds daunting, here's some good news...
There are about a million ways to find seed keywords for cost per action and pay per download niche. This is just a guided brainstorm. So go nuts!

A Few Things to Keep in Mind
Super-niche seed keywords often do well. And just because your keyword is specific doesn't mean your site has to be. It's still a good starting point.

Branch Out. You don't necessarily need to stay in markets you know. These methods are meant to get you thinking and expose you to new ideas.

But you CAN pick a market first if you like. If you want to go into the CPA hunting niche (like we will in our example) because you love it, you can still look for seed keywords only in that niche.

Where (and How) to Find Seed Keywords for CPA and PPD

1. Niche forums
Look at forums for phrases, products, words, and keywords people in a given market use often.

We can glean a lot of potential seed keywords just by skimming this hunting forum for a couple of seconds. Here are a few ideas for seed keywords that I can see:

  • "knife": Lots of interest in knives.
  • "Ram mounts": Products. No idea what this is never would have thought of it.
  • "Hunt video": Could be perfect for political articles.

2. Amazon ad Ebay
Exploring the categories, sub-categories, and favorite products. Below, you can see the hunting category page on Amazon. Everything could be a seed keyword for a hunting site.

3. Look around you!

  • Think about( and try to notice) stuff like the following:
  • Household items
  • Stuff that annoys you
  • Hobbies
  • Things you buy a lot of
  • Stuff you use every day

4. Watch TV
Watching television and keep an eye out for trends, products, hot interest, etc. In particular, pay attention to this stuff:

  • Commercials (and which network they're on)
  • Infomercials
  • Which products are mentioned on specific channels
  • Shows that have significant following (communities and audiences you can tap into with other research methods mentioned here)

5. Go Shopping
You can go into any store and see hundreds of different products. Each of those products can be seed keywords. Depending on where you're at in your brainstorming process, try these:

  • General shopping store (e.g. Target)
  • Slightly more niche stores (e.g., sporting goods stores)
  • Very Specific nice stores (e.g. sports cards shops, bait shops)

6. Google Trends
Google Trends is an excellent way to see what people are searching for and talking about. Let's see what comes up when we search for "hunting."

There are a few good ones here, and we can use them to find others.

7. Affiliate Networks
Affiliate networks have tons of products to promote. You can write about these subjects and develop those products. There weren't many hunting affiliate products, but here are some good examples in the photography niche. Here, our seed keyword might be "photo editing."

8. Go to the Library
Libraries may not be full of products, but they're certainly full of topics and ideas. Just walk up and down the isles, looking for interesting ideas. As you do so, ask yourself, "Could this be a cool website or article?" If you find something awesome, spend some time browsing the books to see what people are writing about.
